Volunteer With Us!
Literacy Council's staff is 98% volunteer. We rely on 80 to 100 volunteers each year to help us fulfill our mission.
Ways to Volunteer

Teach classes online or in-person

Help students enroll in classes

Help with planning and organizing special events

Write grants or help with fundraising events

Assist with technology equipment and software

Serve on the Board of Directors

Commitments start at 30 minutes a week. You can volunteer from home or in-person, days or evenings. Most positions do not require a college degree or teaching certification.
The only prerequisites to becoming a volunteer tutor are that you are:

Fluent in the English language

18 years of age or older

Hold a high school diploma or GED

Patient, and willing to work with a diverse population
