CLASSES WE OFFER
For adults 18+
Classes include a mix of virtual and in-person classes.
Some classes include 24/7 access to educational software.
All classes are free. A $25 annual donation is requested, but not required
ESL (English as a Second Language) - English language instruction for non-primary English speakers.
Classes to improve listening and speaking skills. Our students come from 47 linguistic backgrounds, and instruction is delivered in English. Enrolled students are provided a variety of supports upon request including preparing for the US Citizenship exam, driver’s license test, and vocational certification.
Basic literacy - Reading instruction for people who speak English, but are reading below sixth grade
Adult Basic Literacy is designed for students who want to improve their reading and writing skills in order to live more productive and independent lives.
GED Prep - Prepares high school dropouts to pass the four subject areas on the GED exam.
Instruction is individualized and the pace is determined by the student. Students earn their GEDs in two weeks or up to two years, depending on the student's academic levels and the amount of time they commit to their studies. Includes support to help them transition to college, trade school, and sustainable employment.
Vocational training - Vocational Certification programs prepare students for careers in local high-need industries that provide sustainable incomes. Classes are offered to students with and without a high school diploma.
Workplace Literacy ESP (English for Specific Purposes)
English classes delivered in the workplace or virtually for 2-100 employees who need to improve English skills in order to improve job performance. The curriculum is tailored to the industry and the expressed needs of the employer. Fees Vary. Please contact Kimberly@literacycouncilwilco.org for more information.
