Brian Ray Monroe
Jan. 15, 1974 - June 15, 2021
Brian had a huge, loving heart. BR549, as he was lovingly called by his family, was born in Austin and enjoyed spending time on the lake with friends, who often saw him get on his jet ski and ride at sunset. Brian was always willing to give his time to help others. He enjoyed collecting coins and being outside in nature. With his daughter, Andi, Brian loved riding jet skis, vacationing, skiing, and watching her play volleyball. He and his son, Finn, cherished time spent fishing, eating pho soup, playing games at High Five, and collecting things like fossils and unique rocks.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Cecil (Cowan) Monroe, George and Valda (Smith) Barrington, and his father, Bobby Ray Monroe. He is survived by his beautiful children, Andi and Finn Monroe, and their mom, Jeana (Hill) Monroe; his mother, Jan Little, and second father, Brad; sisters, Angie Monroe and Samantha Little; niece, Allison Coker; nephew, Matthew Coker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, who all loved him dearly.
Brian is the beloved cousin of Literacy Council WILCO's executive director, Kimberly Goode. Brian was very supportive of Kimberly's efforts to provide adult education for the community, so the family asks that any charitable donations to honor his memory be made to Literacy Council WILCO.
